All reportsHow we verify

Trust, by design.

Janvani exists for one reason: to make independent, on-the-ground reporting something you can trust at a glance. Here is exactly how, in plain words.

Verified writer

The verification seal

The gold seal means a real person on our team reviewed this writer's application before granting them a pen-name: their institution, a writing sample, and a reference. Only verified writers can publish. Readers never need an account to read or comment.

What we check before publishing

Accuracy
Names, places, dates and quotes are checked. Claims need a source we can see.
Language
We edit out loaded or inflammatory wording. The story should inform, not provoke.
Image authenticity
Each photo's metadata is read for signs of editing or AI tools, and its GPS location is stripped before it is stored. A full authenticity check is still being built.

Pen-names keep writers safe

Reporting honestly can put a young journalist at risk. Every writer publishes under a pen-name; their real identity is verified by us and never shown publicly. Comments that try to expose a writer's real name are removed, and the account is blocked.
